Ayurdaya in the Parashara tradition counts longevity in classical years from planetary positions. It is not a medical prognosis. For each of the three methods this page shows every planet's base years, the reductions for the visible half of the chart, combustion, enemy signs and malefics rising, plus Lagna's own years. It then compares the strength of Lagna, Sun and Moon to say which method applies. Without a birth time no totals are given, because Lagna decides several of the steps.

Ayurdaya questions
Is this a prediction of death?
No. These are classical year-count methods from BPHS chapter 43, for study and comparison. They do not forecast when anyone will die.
What is Pindayu?
Sun through Saturn give full years at deep exaltation and half at deep fall, in proportion between. Four reductions follow, and Lagna adds its own years.
How is Nisargayu different?
It uses the natural years 1, 2, 9, 20, 18, 20 and 50 for Moon, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Sun and Saturn. BPHS gives only these fixed years; scaling and reducing them as in Pindayu follows Saravali.
Which method should I read?
Amsayu if Lagna is strongest, Pindayu if the Sun is, Nisargayu if the Moon is. Lagna is measured by the Bhava Bala of the first house, Sun and Moon by Shadbala. Equal strength means averaging.
