Transit Calculator

Nine-graha snapshot, ±5y slow-graha lanes and ±6mo fast-graha lanes—transits at the moment shown for your birth place.

  • Grahas9Sun through Ketu with Moon-relative houses.
  • Slow lanes±5ySaturn, Jupiter, Rahu, Ketu ingress bands.
  • Fast lanes±6moSun, Mercury, Venus, Mars bands; “now” marker uses the transit moment on your chart.

Gochara shows where the grahas are in the sky at a chosen moment relative to your natal Moon and ascendant. Enter birth date, time and place; the workbench shows positions at the transit moment stored with your chart, ±5-year sign and retrograde lanes for Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu, and ±6-month lanes for Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars. Compare house-from-Moon and house-from-Lagna columns in the now table, inspect retrograde hatch overlays on each timeline, and read ingress dates on slow and fast bands—the Moon stays table-only, with a note when its sign is uncertain.

FAQ

Transit calculator questions

What is Gochara?

Sanskrit for transit: where planets are at a chosen moment, counted from your natal Moon or Lagna.

Which grahas have timeline lanes?

Slow band: Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu at ±5 years. Fast band: Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars at ±6 months, each with retrograde segments when your chart includes them.

Why is the Moon not on a lane?

The Moon changes sign roughly every 2½ days; we keep it in the now table and omit a lane when natal Moon sign is uncertain.

Which clock is “now”?

The transit moment shown is local time at the birth place when your chart was computed—not necessarily your device clock.

Do I need birth time?

House-from-Lagna and anything tied to the ascendant need an accurate clock. Moon-based houses still need a stable natal Moon sign.

How does this relate to dasha?

Dasha tells who is running the period; transits tell what is moving in the sky. Judgment usually combines both.
