Parashari texts set minimum totals—Sun 6.5, Moon 6, Mars 5, Mercury 7, Jupiter 6.5, Venus 5.5, Saturn 5—below which a planet struggles to deliver its significations. What is Shadbala?
Six sources of strength—Sthāna, Dig, Kāla, Chesta, Naisargika and Drik—added in Rūpas. It is a quantitative check before judging dasha results.
What are the required Rūpas?
Classical minima: Sun 6.5, Moon 6, Mars 5, Mercury 7, Jupiter 6.5, Venus 5.5, Saturn 5. Adequate means total ≥ minimum.
Why is Drik bala sometimes negative?
Drik is net aspect strength; heavy malefic aspects can pull the segment below zero on the stack chart.
What is Vimśopaka bala?
A dignity score out of 20 built from the divisional charts. Parāśara gives four schemes—6, 7, 10 and 16 charts, each with its own weights—and this page shows all four, chart by chart, along with how many charts are good by Vaiśeṣikāṃśa. It complements Ṣaḍbala for overall potency.
Do I need an accurate birth time?
Yes. Dig bala, kendradi, much of kāla bala and the ranking depend on houses and the clock. Unknown time hides misleading totals.
